Have you ever stopped and wondered why one name has survived every empire, every king, every war, every generation, and every attempt to erase it?
Thousands of years have passed. Nations have risen and fallen. Great rulers once believed they would be remembered forever. Pharaohs built pyramids. Caesars demanded worship. Kings carved their names into stone. Empires marched across continents believing their power would never end.
Yet most of their names today are little more than lines in history books.
But one name remains.
Jesus.
Not just surviving history.
Standing above it.
Some people say Jesus was merely a historical figure. Others say He was a prophet, a teacher, a revolutionary, or the founder of a religion. Some admire His words while never asking the deeper question:
Who was He actually?
Because the answer changes everything.
The apostle Paul wrote something extraordinary in Philippians:
"Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord."

Read that slowly.
Every knee.
Not some.
Every.
In heaven.
On earth.
Under the earth.
No exceptions.
No exclusions.
That is one of the boldest statements ever written.
Imagine saying this about anyone else in history.
Not Alexander the Great.
Not Caesar.
Not Muhammad.
Not Buddha.
Not Einstein.
Not presidents.
Not kings.
No human being could carry such a claim.
Yet Scripture says Jesus does.
Why?
Because the power behind a name depends on who stands behind it.
A police officer can stop traffic with a raised hand, not because he is physically stronger than everyone else, but because authority stands behind him.
A judge speaks a sentence and lives change.
Authority gives weight to words.
So what stands behind the name of Jesus?
The Bible gives an answer almost too large for the human mind.
Paul writes:
"For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created through Him and for Him."
— Colossians 1:16
Everything.
Visible and invisible.
Things you can see.
Things you cannot.
Galaxies.
Stars.
Time.
Matter.
Angels.
Kingdoms.
Powers.
Authorities.
Everything.
And then Paul says something even more astonishing:
"He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together."
— Colossians 1:17
Hold together.
Right now.
At this very moment.
Your lungs are drawing breath.
Your heart continues beating.
The earth spins at impossible speed.
Stars burn.
Atoms remain structured.
Gravity does not suddenly stop working.
We describe these things through science.
But Scripture goes deeper.
It says beneath every law and every process is Christ Himself.
Holding reality together.
The same Jesus people casually ignore.
The same Jesus people mock.
The same Jesus whose name people use without even thinking.
According to Scripture, the One whose name they speak is sustaining the very breath in their lungs.
Think about that.
The hand holding creation together still bears nail scars.
And perhaps this is why Jesus confused people.
He looked ordinary.
He walked dusty roads.
He became tired.
He slept in boats.
He ate with fishermen.
Children sat on His lap.
Yet hidden beneath ordinary human flesh stood the One who made stars.
John opens his Gospel this way:
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
— John 1:1
And a few verses later:
"The Word became flesh and dwelt among us."
— John 1:14
God stepped into His own creation.
The Creator entered the story.
Imagine an author stepping into his own book.
Imagine a painter entering his own painting.
Imagine the One outside time stepping into time itself.
That is Jesus.
And even the spiritual world recognized Him.
People debated Him.
Religious leaders questioned Him.
Crowds doubted Him.
But demons never questioned who He was:
"I know who You are—the Holy One of God!"
— Mark 1:24
They recognized authority immediately.
No debate.
No confusion.
Because heaven knew His name long before earth did.
One day every government will end.
Every title will disappear.
Every empire will become dust.
Every human name eventually fades.
But Scripture says one name remains above every other.
Jesus Christ.
And the question has never really been whether His name is powerful.
The question is:
Who do you believe He truly is?
Because if Scripture is right, then the One holding every atom together at this very moment is not distant.
He is calling people even now.
And that changes everything.
