As the Body of Christ, we are each given different roles and spiritual gifts by the Holy Spirit—yet we serve one purpose. Some are given gifts of healing, others wisdom, leadership, discernment, teaching, or the grace to speak and intercede on behalf of the Body, as Moses once did. Throughout Scripture, God has called many to stand in the gap—Abraham, Samuel, David, Elijah, Daniel, Nehemiah, Esther, and Job—each interceding for individuals or nations. Above all, God the Holy Spirit, who stands before the Father on our behalf and continues to intercede for us even now. Every gift matters, and together we function as one body in Christ.
